OUTSOURCING ASSOCATION PROMISES BIG SAVINGS FOR SOLICITORS' PRACTICES NATIONWIDE
Eight UK companies, each with its own specialist niche expertise, have formed a one-stop-shop professional association providing outsourcing services for solicitors' practices across the country.
The Solicitors' Outsourcing Association is an independent, not-for-profit organisation designed to allow solicitors to reduce costs and overheads by concentrating on their core legal services for clients, and providing quality assurance for solicitors.
Co-founder Gail Biddulph gives the new Association a "roaring" start during a motor cycling holiday in Morocco
Its co-founder Gail Biddulph, Managing Director of one of the member companies, Distinctive Partnerships of Rossett, near Chester, stressed that the new Association would provide significant, tangible benefits for solicitors' practices of all sizes from "one man bands to the so-called magic circle companies."
"Through our work with legal practices over many years we have gained an insight and understanding of their particular needs that has proved to be invaluable in ensuring that the Association is a one-stop-shop covering solicitors' core business activities" she said.
"In this way the Association enables a solicitors' practice to reduce its overheads and improve the quality of the service it gives to its clients by focussing on the core business activities of client work and managing client relationships. The Association has strict quality requirements for membership, and unsatisfactory performance would result in loss of membership".
The new Association provides a cover-all "umbrella" service that includes accounting and bookkeeping, cloud hosting and IT support, dictation services, file review and regulatory compliance audits, human resources and employment law services, legal cost experts, outsourced reception and voice and data IT services.
Gail Biddulph (46) and her business partner and SOA Chairman, solicitor Martin Read, co-founded the Association with Joanna Swash, of the Telephone Answering and Outsourced Switchboard company Moneypenny of Wrexham, North Wales.
"Since the start we have been at pains to ensure the quality of the service offered by each member company. Each company has been carefully vetted and references have been taken from solicitors to ensure that they have a thorough understanding of the specialist requirements the legal profession," said co-founder Joanna Swash of Moneypenny.
In addition to Distinctive Partnerships and Moneypenny, the Association comprises (in alphabetical order): Cloud Computing Centre, cloud hosting and on-premise IT support; Concert, voice and data IT services; d2u, outsourced dictation services; Deminos, human resources and employment law; MRN, legal cost experts; The Cashroom LLP, specialist accountancy and legal bookkeeping. Additional potential member organisations are currently the subject of quality checks.
